A Patch of BEAUTY

27 Apr

I was waiting for sleep to overcome
As I watched cars drive by with smoke trailing
Students going to school missing home
And vendors working in the street though it was raining

Houses were all stuck together
And buildings towering high
I thought the familiar journey in the city would take forever
And then let out a small sigh

As the car took a last turn
I was surprised to be greeted
By the sight of trees, plants, flowers, and ferns
It was definitely not a sight to be hated!

The sleep that was starting to overcome
Left and did not dare to return
The scenery I came to see
Made me willing to walk in the rain and yearn

Through the gates and into the park
We trudged in the mud and through the rain
The skies turned cloudy and dark
Friends complaining that their feet is in pain

Those were all small prices to pay
The thought of having this patch of beauty
Amidst all the confusion of the city we experience everyday
Was something that left me believing we are still fulfilling a duty

There is a hope that you might see goodness
Though you are going through toughest moment
There is still the hope of finding happiness
In events of sorrow and torment

God is always there

He is a patch of beauty amidst the confusion life would bring
He is there against all odds, he makes all things fair
He is above all, the Creator of all, He rules all, and

He is King!
